K-12 Academic Tutoring

We provide in-depth subject specific support, as well as general core subject assistance. Our tutors can coach students of all ages (K-12 and beyond) in math, English, social studies/history, the sciences, reading, and foreign language. We assist with homework completion, content mastery, as well as test and quiz preparedness.

Standardized Test Preparation

We teach students how to boost their scores on standardized tests, including the SSAT, ISEE, HSPT, SAT, and ACT. We offer diagnostic exams as well as proctoring services. Our tutors not only cover exam content, but go a step further and teach effective test taking strategies.

Executive Function Coaching

We help our students develop strong EF skills to become better learners and identify how they learn best. We teach organization, planning, and study skills to help students think ahead, initiate tasks, and remain focused. By implementing self-monitoring techniques, we ensure our students stay on track, both in session and beyond.

Highly Customized Support

We understand that all students learn differently. Our talented educators recognize the nuances behind learning differences and will identify your child’s specific needs. We adapt our approach to match your child’s learning profile, and constantly make adjustments as your child continues to mature and thrive.

Online Tutoring

We are proud to offer virtual tutoring solutions to serve our students’ needs, whether they are based locally in the Bay Area, or anywhere else in the nation.

Virtual tutoring provides all the convenience of in-home sessions, with none of the transportation obstacles. Student and tutors “meet” for live sessions via Zoom, FaceTime, Skype, and other online platforms, where they have the option to share video and screens. Sessions are equally as effective as in-person meetings, and scheduling is more flexible.

Our Method

We do not tell our students what to do, we teach them how to do it.

 

 

TEAM tutors take a “teach a person how to fish” approach with our students every session. We focus on the thinking and learning processes involved in each lesson and make sure that our students learn the content from the ground up. We encourage our students to go beyond rote memorization and instead aim to truly master the material.
